Innobiz Durban is based at DUT’s ML Sultan Campus in eThekwini which is the largest city in this province and the third-largest city in the country serves DUT registered student entrepreneurs who belong to five DUT campuses who are approximately 30 000.
Our unit in M.L. Sultan campus is situated in the center of an historical site that comprises several buildings. From establishment the office has gone on to achieve a number of accolades not only for the unit but also its entrepreneurs.
Our objective is ensuring students understand the culture of building entrepreneurship, whilst promoting excellence in learning and teaching, technology transfer, applied research and external engagement that promote innovation and entrepreneurship through collaboration and partnerships. This is achieved by providing a platform for start-ups and prospective entrepreneurs to convert their business ideas into commercially viable products and services. We provide a series of innovative programs that empower student’s entrepreneurs to create economic and social value in their regions and beyond.
In this our goal is to then become the leading University of Technology hub in KZN that develops and empowers innovators and entrepreneurs to create sustainable solutions to solve societal problems and contribute to regional skills training and job creation with our key partners.
